Building consents for new houses peak
Building consents for new houses in New Zealand peaked last month to the highest figure in four years.
There were more than 1,600 consents granted in October, the highest for any month since May 2008.
Dunedin helped with a strong month, recording 43 consents.
That was the second highest number for the year, beaten only by the 68 consents granted in June.
