Car chase ends after spikes used
Police have an offender firmly in their sights, after a car chase early this morning ended only after road spikes were used.
An officer pulled over what turned out to be a stolen vehicle about 4am, in Mulford Street, Concord.
The offender drove off, with police not far behind, before spikes were laid across Kircaldy Street in South Dunedin.
Those blew the tyres of the car, which made it only as far as nearby Macandrew Road.
Acting Senior Sergeant Dave Scott said the driver escaped, but was known to police, and would be arrested.
His 19 year old female passenger was arrested and charged with unlawfully getting into a vehicle.
