Claire Barton Named As A 2008-09 Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist.

Dunedin woman Claire Barton has been named by New Zealand Opera as a 2008-09 Dame Malvina Major Emerging Artist.
A mezzo soprano, Barton will join two other singers in taking on a year-long internship with the famed opera company.
As an added bonus, the trio will receive vocal tuition from Dame Malvina, one of New Zealand's most renowned opera singers.
