Comment results in assault charges

A comment about a haircut ended in a man being left unconcsious, a police foot chase, and an eventual arrest.

Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken says a 20 year old male made fun of another man's mullet style haircut early this morning outside a city hotel.

The man allegedly responded with a headbutt, just as a police car was passing.

A foot chase ensued, resulting in a 21 year old Dunedin man facing charges of assault.
