Commerce Commission report provides information for consumers

A new report from the Commerce Commission on electricity distributors has provided information for consumers on how well their company is doing.

In Otago, a major distributor is lines company Aurora, owned by the Dunedin City Council.

The report says the average price per small customer connection for Aurora increased about 3% over the three years to 2011.

The average price per unit of electricity delivered also increased, by about 5%.

The good news in the report was the average duration and frequency of interruptions on the network was below the industry average.
