Conference raises questions about Sin of Cheapness
Dunedin minister, activist and social entrepreneur, Rutherford Waddell, preached about 'The Sin of Cheapness' back in 1888.
It was a highly influential sermon which demonised sweat shops and poorly paid jobs, and paved the way for centuries of social reform to come.
A conference held at First Church today raised questions about the same sin - and the way history seems to be repeating itself.
