Diabetes Research Receives Huge Funding Boost

Local research into Diabetes received a $100,000 funding boost this afternoon.

Professor Jim Mann, director of The Edgar Centre for National Diabetes Research, was presented with a cheque for $50,000 this afternoon.

That amount will be matched by the Government, making a total conrtibution of $100,000 dollars.

The money will go towards the Apple Project, which aims to help prevent obesity in children, by encouraging them to change their eating habits, and to have more active lives.
