With the University of Otago buying up long time 'student' bars such as the Bowler and the Gardies Tavern, as well as their well publicised comments labelling the North Dunedin flatting area as a 'ghetto', it seems the student scene may be changing.

Today the 9 Local News Word On The Street team took to George Street asking people if they thought the University is trying to do away with the traditional 'Dunedin Scarfie' culture.
