Dunedin hospital to go before DCC hearing

A Dunedin hospital will go before a DCC hearing next week, as it pushes for a district plan change that would allow easier growth.

The Mercy Hospital has applied for a private plan change, that would mean it would not have to apply for resource consent for every project it undertakes.

The council has recommended the change be approved.

It says that would give the Maori Hill facility and its neighbours assurance as to what expansions are proposed.

The hearing begins on Monday.
