Dunedin Public Library car park transformed this afternoon

Lines of books took the place of lines of cars as the Dunedin Public Library car park was transformed this afternoon.

That transformation created a haven for book worms, as 30,000 pre-loved books hit the market.

And library staff say the Barking Mad Book Sale may come close to bedlam, but it's an important revenue earner for the Dunedin institution.
