Dunedin student spells his way to success
A Dunedin student has spelt his way to success, taking out the 2010 New Zealand Vegemite Spelling Bee Lower South Island regional competition last night.
Ian Snow, who is in year nine at John McGlashan College will be studying hard now for the spelling bee final next month.
A first there would win him the title of 2010 New Zealand Vegemite Spelling Champion, and tickets to Washington DC to compete at the Spelling Olympics: the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Ian correctly spelt the word 'extraneous' in the final round against Akiv Khan from James Hargest College.
