Emerson's Brewery sold to brewing giant Lion

Well known Dunedin business Emerson's Brewery has been sold to brewing giant Lion.

In what Emerson's describes as a new chapter for the business, Lion will buy 100% of the shares in the company.

Emerson’s will remain as a stand-alone business unit within Lion, and will continue to produce beer in Dunedin with the same employees.

Brewery founder Richard Emerson says Emerson's will continue to experiment and brew beer.

But Lion’s ownership will give the company the backing to realise its growth aspirations.
