Green Party claims home ownership at a low
The Green Party claims new statistics show home ownership has fallen to a new low.
Former Critic editor, now Greens' housing spokeswoman Holly Walker, says Household Economic Survey figures show young families are being locked out of home ownership.
She says rising house prices, high rents, and falling incomes are behind a home ownership rate that has fallen from 70% five years ago to 65% this year.
Walker says she got that figure from comparing the latest figures with those from years past.
Despite that, the survey shows 73% of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with their standard of living.
