Gypsy Fair Comes To Town
Ornately painted trucks and buses are converging on the Oval for the Original Gypsy Fair this Easter.
The Gypsy Fair has travelled around New Zealand since 1990, and is a chance for visitors to wander the handcraft stalls, of which no two are the same, and take in some live entertainment.
The fair's a favourite with children, who can get their portraits painted, hair wrapped and fingernails painted by the travelling artisans.
Entertainers are executing a variety of acts over the weekend, using fire, dance, fortune telling and unicycles to thrill crowds.
The fair runs all day over Easter weekend, and includes food stalls, kids rides and a collection of large Gypsy vehicles.
