HMAS Diamantina Naval vessel visit cancelled

The visit by Australian Naval vessel the HMAS Diamantina, which was to have berthed in Dunedin this week, has been cancelled.
Dunedin-based Navy spokesman, Lt Cmmndr Phil Bradshaw, says the mine sweeper class boat is constructed of fibreglass to aid in the detection of mines.
The cancellation is due to an engineering defect. All related events and activities in Dunedin will no longer occur.
