Local Government Act strongly criticised

The Otago Regional Council has strongly criticised proposed changes to the Local Government Act.

The changes would mean that all councils would be at greater risk of having their decisions about cost-effectiveness challenged in court.

It's a proposal which the Chairman of the ORC says is 'poorly thought through'.
