We're up to December, in our last look back at the year that was, a month which saw the debate on a controversial hotel begin, as well as the re-opening of a newly-refurbished, historic icon.

December also brought with it good news for Port Otago, but bad news for a local Union Rep, who was infuriated by comments made by the Prime Minister.
