Cats have been in the spotlight this week, with businessman Gareth Morgan calling for Kiwis' friendship with felines to finish.

He has encouraged people to make their current cat their last, and described them as natural-born killers.

On the other side of the coin, two Dunedin people are planning a new charity in the city to look after stray cats.

Dunedin Cat Rescue organiser Sarah Davey joins us with the details.
