One dead after car crash near Clinton

A car crash near Clinton has left one person dead and another in Dunedin hospital.

An 82 year old man died following the head-on crash on State Highway 1 this afternoon.

The crash involved a Toyota SUV and a sedan.

The man who died at the scene was a front-seat passenger in the sedan.

The car's female driver was taken to Dunedin Hospital.

Her injuries are not yet known.
