Otago player just one step away from making the New Zealand sevens team
Otago's Matt Faddes is just one step away from making the New Zealand sevens team to play in Wellington next week.
Faddes has been named as one of 19 players in All Blacks sevens coach Gordon Tietjens' squad to prepare for what will be the fourth round of the series.
The final team of twelve to play at the Wellington sevens will be named on Monday.
Faddes made a good showing for Otago at the recent national rugby sevens tournament in Queenstown.
That earned the 21 year old fullback from South Otago a spot in the New Zealand Emerging Sevens team that played in Fiji last weekend.
