Following a team building exercise, Otago Polytechnic staff decided to collect food and toys to donate in time for Christmas.

Within these boxes are 717 items which Polytech staff have collected to give to Presbyterian Support.

When he heard of the initiative, CEO Phil Ker arranged to match the number of items with a cheque for $717.

Both organisations intend to make it an annual collection.

Presbyterian Support says they have around 500 families regularly requiring assistance at present.
