Police searching for man who absconded from Moana House

Police are searching for a man who absconded from Moana House, the latest in a string of such cases.

Michael Raymond Norton is described as a European male of medium build, and about 180cms or five foot nine inches tall.

Police say he removed a monitoring alarm and left the facility for male offenders in High Street late last week.

He was required to stay at the address under his bail conditions.

Yesterday he called his probation officer from a Mornington address.

But when police arrived at the address they found Norton had knocked on the door, used the home owner's phone and left.

Police are keen to hear from anyone with information.
