Seven cars involved in accident

Seven cars were involved in a crash early today that resulted in two people ending up in hospital.

Police say a truck with a load of gravel lost control on Rattray Street just before 9am.

It hit a stationary vehicle outside Kavanagh College, pushed the car into another truck travelling up Rattray Street, then collided with other cars.

Two people were taken to Dunedin hospital as a precaution and later discharged.

Police are investigating the crash.
