Silver Fern Farms reports net operating loss

Silver Fern Farms has reported a net operating loss after tax of $31.1 million, from a total revenue of $2 billion.

Chairman Eoin Garden says despite an operational loss, significant investments have been made in 2012 to underpin future growth.

Within the coming financial year, the company plans to invest a further $22.6 million into brand development and marketing initiatives.
