Wanted man chooses cells over Dunedin's weather
A man wanted by police after leaving a residential facility for male offenders chose a return to the cells over Dunedin's weather.
Michael Raymond Norton removed a monitoring alarm and left Moana House late last week, prompting police to issue a recall warrant.
Earlier this week, he knocked on the door of a Mornington home and used the phone to call his probation officer, but left before police arrived.
Early yesterday Norton called police from a phone box.
He told them he was cold and wet, was picked up, and faced court today.
