Weather blocks view of partial eclipse

The telescopes were all set up, a class of schoolboys was in place, and there were plenty of sun filters to go around.

Nobody wanted to miss out on one of the cosmic events of the year.

But Dunedin's weather managed to take the solar out of today's solar eclipse, and left an event at a local observatory decidedly gray.
