The spectacular motorsport action of last weekend's Bathurst V8 Supercar race was eclipsed in Dunedin on Saturday, as the 2009 Grass Karts Challenge hit Mosgiel.

Fourteen high schools from around the South Island took part in the event, which challenges pupils to build and race Go-Karts as part of their metalwork studies.

As well as that, the Otago Touch trials were contested yesterday at the Oval. Here's a look at the action from both events, held during the weekend.
