Many motorists not obeying speed limit around parked school buses

Concerns raised by some school bus drivers have prompted Police to urge motorists to slow down when passing school buses.
Inspector Alastair Dickie says the law is that motorists must reduce their speed to 20 kilometres per hour when passing a bus displaying a 'school bus' sign, which is stopped on the side of the road to set down and pick up children. ›read more

The second annual DCC walk to work day began early for some, with reports of one man walking in from Mosgiel, and a group walking from South Dunedin to the Octagon.
