Car enthusiasts from all over the country were treated to a spectacular display of modified machines, better known as hot rods, in Dunedin at the weekend.

Organised by Otago members of the New Zealand Hot Rod Association, the national event hadn't been held this far south for a decade.

And it gave locals who weren't directly involved in the show a chance to put on a presentation of their own.
