Dunedin's second annual pride festival has drawn to a close, but not without a bit of a shindig.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life gathered in the Octagon to celebrate and learn more about the local queer community.

And it wasn't all fun and frivolity - a new diversity strategy was also released, quickly gaining mayoral support.
