Findings in the city council fraud investigation have just been made public.

A report by Deloitte states that former council worker Brent Bachop was responsible for defrauding the council of about $1.5.

Bachop died suddenly in May, just after questions were asked about discrepancies in the Citifleet accounts.

Bachop was the Citifleet team leader, and was responsible for council vehicles.

Deloitte has found Bachop kept proceeds from the sale of more than 100 council cars.

He also fraudulently used council fuel cards and cash cheques.

No other council staff have been incriminated by the report.
