A noticeably higher number of people are donating to this year's RSA Poppy Day appeal.

The chairman of Dunedin's RSA Welfare Trust puts the support down to the upcoming centenary of the Gallipoli landing.

And with a fundraising goal of about $70,000, the appeal's expected to make a massive difference.
