Dunedin house prices are on the rise, with a 12% jump in the median price for April.

The average price of local homes sold last month was just under $290,000.

That's a significant increase on the median price for last April.

And the number of local houses being sold is also rising.

Overall 185 houses were sold in the city last month.

That's an increase on last April of 36%.
