A Maori Hill School pupil is the winner of a regional story competition.

Year five pupil Amelie Warlow receives a $500 stationery voucher and $700 for the school to spend on books.

Almost 100 schools from around the country took part by entering pupils in the national competition.

The Dunedin winner's imaginative story about a fictional character was the judges' favourite of all the Otago entries.
