Stadium Discussions Held Behind Tightly Closed Doors

Discussions on the future of the proposed Otago Stadium were held behind tightly closed doors at The Dunedin City Council today.

In an unusual move, Mayor Peter Chin asked that all staff except Councillors leave the room during the discussions to ensure complete confidentiality.

The next hurdle in the road to the proposed Stadium getting the go ahead will be faced when the Otago Regional Council meet tomorrow.

High on that agenda will be whether an outstanding 15 million dollars required from The Carisbrook Stadium Trust is assured to be paid, one of the Otago Regional Councils pre-requisites for their 37 million dollar rate payer funded contribution.

When contacted today, Maror Peter Chin, as well as spokespeople for The Carisbrook Stadium Trust refrained from commenting on any of todays Stadium proceedings
