A 43 year old man appeared in Dunedin District Court this morning, after allegedly drink driving, failing to stop and threatening to kill a Police officer, on State Highway One near Pigeon Flat last night.

Senior Sergeant Chris George says a vigilant member of the public alerted them to the man, who was driving with a flat tyre, and was in breach of his bail conditions.

Upon arrest, George says the driver was uncooperative and threatening towards Police.

After refusing to have a blood specimen taken, the man spent the night in Police custody.

He has been remanded in custody to reappear on the 19th of February.
