The repair work on the grass in the upper-Octagon has been completed following damage believed to be caused by the Occupy Dunedin protest group.

New turf had to be laid after the grass became damaged as a result of the Occupation.

It's understood the Occupiers attempted to dig a bed for vegetables in the lawn, causing damage to the sand-carpet beneath the topsoil.

Repair work came at a cost of $3,500
