The future of women's rugby in Otago is in jeopardy as the New Zealand Rugby Union has decided to give Otago's place in the competition to Waikato.

However a player who's moved to Otago from Christchurch this year hopes to raise enough funds to get a team in the women's National Provincial Championship, which is due to begin.
