New Zealand dollar may rise this week

The New Zealand dollar may rise this week as leaders of the Group of Seven nations meet to discuss Europe’s debt crisis.

Spain is likely to be top of the agenda after the nation's fourth-biggest bank asked for 19 billion euros of state funding, after it increased its provision for bad debts.

The request is likely to further de-stablise the Euro, which in turn makes the kiwi dollar a more attractive option for investors, increasing its value.
