Long-haul passenger numbers increase
Air New Zealand's long-haul passenger numbers rose 4.8% in May, led by an increase in the number of Kiwis departing for Asia and Australia.
Passengers travelling to North America and the UK also rose 1.1%.
Air New Zealand's new Chief Executive, Christopher Luxon, says there's profit in Kiwis heading to the US.
He says the airliner is targeting a $110m lift in earnings from its long-haul services by 2015.
Shares in Air New Zealand are currently trading at 86.5c.
