Largest drops in farm sales in Otago and Southland

Otago and Southland have recorded the largest drops in farm sales for the last part of the financial year.

Real Estate Institute of New Zealand figures show nationally, sales for the three months to the end of June were up 3%.

The organisation says demand for farm properties remains strong, despite the onset of winter and continuing volatility in commodity prices.

But that does not appear to hold true for the south, with Southland recording 12 fewer sales, and Otago 11 fewer.
