Value of New Zealand exports falls

The value of exports from New Zealand fell 1.6 percent in the three months to June, following a 5.9 percent fall for the previous quarter.

That gives 9 months now of falling export values, from a record high in September last year.

A drop in the seasonally adjusted value of dairy exports has been behind the latest fall.

Statistics New Zealand says dairy products have the biggest influence on total exports.

The value of imported goods also dropped, by 1.9 percent for the quarter.
