Fingerprints result in arrest
Police had a small win, and an unidentified person had a free night's accommodation overnight.
Dunedin police say a 17-year-old male threw a pot plant through the window of a shop in lower Stuart St last month, and took a scooter.
Fingerprints were taken from the scene, which matched a set on file, and the youth will appear in court next Tuesday.
Police are also investigating a report of a smashed caravan window at a sales yard last night.
A person entered the caravan, apparently slept in it, and left before staff arrived in the morning.
Senior Sergeant Mel Aitken says police won't sleep until they lay the matter to rest.
