Police have offender, but no victim
Police have an offender, but no victim, after an alleged assault in Dunedin early today.
The incident occurred on the corner of lower Stuart Street and Moray Place at about 4 o'clock this morning.
A witness alerted police to the incident, and the offender was caught and charged with assault.
The victim was understood to have taken a serious beating, and police say they are keen to find him.
He is described as being a light skinned Maori or Polynesian, short to average height, with a chequered, hooded top.
