Jobless rate could fall below 6%

New Zealand's jobless rate could fall below 6% in 2014.

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has released forecasts suggesting unemployment will fall to 6.2% in March next year, and 5.9% in March 2014.

That's despite June quarter labour force figures that showed a rise in the unemployment rate to 6.8%.

The Ministry says a domestic recovery is expected to accelerate as the Canterbury rebuild gets underway.
