Council installing new gates at beaches

Three new gates allowing access to St Clair and Middle beaches are being installed by the Dunedin City Council.

Entry points to city beaches have been ripped away in parts by heavy seas and erosion.

This week the council will open the new gates, and install signage.

The council says the work is part of remedial action following recent heavy weather.
