Shares rise for Macraes gold mine owner

Macraes gold mine owner OceanaGold has continued a strong run, with its shares rising 3.6% in early morning trading.

The result was an almost two year high of $4.07 on the NZX.

The company has also released a progress report for its Philippines mine, where pre-commissioning activities are underway.

It says all major mine roads are completed, senior operations staff have been recruited and capital costs are on target.
