Otago one of two regions to record an increase in house sales

Otago was one of only two regions to record an increase in house sales in September, compared with the previous month.

Real Estate Institute of New Zealand figures show the number of sales increased by almost 13%.

The median price for a home in Otago increased by about $10,000, an almost 4% rise compared with August.

The median length of time taken to sell a house stood at 32 days.

The other region to record an increase was Central Otago Lakes District.
