John Wilson Ocean Drive future not to be decided for at least two weeks

The future of John Wilson Ocean Drive will not be decided for at least another two weeks.

Despite the issue being the subject of a remarkable 15 reports, the council decided not to make a decision on opening or closing the road yesterday.

The community development committee included a report that would have resulted in the road being open for three hours a day.

But a separate issue over the speed limit on the drive was not due to be considered until a council meeting late this month.

The committee decided to consider all matters relating to the road at that time.
