Competition intends to inspire pride

A new competition in Dunedin has been created to tidy up the city's visitor attractions.

Keep Dunedin Beautiful is targeting any site that attracts visitors, from public gardens run by community groups to businesses that cater for tourists.

The idea of the competition is to get those in charge to take pride in, and take care of, their patch.

Keep Dunedin Beautiful has also won an award of its own, for a community art project that decorated Forsyth Barr Stadium's fence, while the stadium was being built.
